Sedona

The breathtaking red rock formations & towering sandstone cliffs of Sedona, Arizona set the stage for one of our favorite dog friendly getaways...Marley gives it 4 paws up!
We traveled to Sedona in March & enjoyed fantastic weather while still allowing Marley to romp in the snow.
If you are visiting from Orange County I recommend traveling out on the 40 where you can stop at a couple of great swimming holes along the Coconino National Forest. Marley didn't seem to mind the icy cold water...as long as she had a ball to fetch!

Our dog friendly hotel of choice was Kings Ransom Hotel, a certified green hotel situated in the heart of Sedona's red rocks. We had a fantastic experience here with beautiful views from our pet friendly room on the first floor. Kings Ransom offers a dog designated area with doggie bags, hiking trails just steps from your room & a dog beds available for a nominal fee. The hotel charges a pet fee of $15/per night.

Our recommended dog friendliest hike was at the Red Rock Crossing/Cathedral Rock Vortex. Dogs abound here with plenty of great spots to swim in Oak Creek and gorgeous views of the famous Cathedral Rock.
Yosemite
A fantastic National Park to explore with your best pal!

Located in Central California’s Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, you’ll find gorgeous panoramic views, alpine lakes, towering waterfalls, granite cliffs and natural splendor. One of our weekend getaways not to be missed!
Leashed pets are allowed on paved paths, anywhere on the Valley Floor, Happy Isles Nature Center and on the Pohono Bridge.
Where to stay? The Tenaya Lodge is a beautiful pet friendly mountain resort found 2 miles from Yosemite National Park’s southern gate where your pal will be greeted with a plush dog bed, water bowl, doggie treats and a supply of disposable mitts. You’ll also receive a Canine Concierge Fact Sheet with fun suggestions on pet friendly areas to roam as well as all the doggie do’s and dont’s during your stay.
We found that dog friendly dining at Tenaya is no problem, as Jackalope’s Bar and Grill served us while lounging in the cozy lobby.
