Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort’s 12th Annual CARe Show

More than 400 cars are expected to participate in the Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort’s 10th annual car show. The show was born from an effort to raise awareness and money to rescue and find homes for stray animals in San Juan Capistrano.

The 2015 CARe show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center/Sports Park, 25920 Camino Del Avion. The CARe Show will feature live entertainment, opportunity drawings, displays, vendors, goodie bags and more. Food and beverages will be provided by Los Golondrinas. 3rd Annual Ford Petersen Spay Day at Alicia Pet Care Center

On Feb 11th, 2013 the world lost an incredible human being, Ford Petersen. Ford was set to graduate from UC Davis and was following his dream of becoming a veterinarian. Ford was a kind and gentle giant of a young man and was dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the animals that he worked with,” stated Dr. Matthew Wheaton. “In an effort to allow Ford to make the lasting impact on pets in our community that he so desired, we are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Ford Petersen Spay Day at Alicia Pet Care Center."

Alicia Pet Care Center will be immediately accepting requests from the community to be entered into a lottery system for a comprehensive spay or neuter service for up to 50 dogs and cats on date TBA. These services will be at no cost to those that are chosen. To add your name to the lottery (each dog or cat is a separate entry), please call 949-768-1313 before Wednesday, February 25th at 7pm. Those that are selected will be notified by February 27th

Helpful Honda Pet Adoption Events

In an effort to help SoCal’s two-legged residents find new four-leggedfriends, the SoCal Honda Dealers and the Guys in Blue are hosting their annual Helpful Honda Pet Adoption events with local shelters and rescue groups throughout the month of March. At the Helpful Honda Pet Adoptions, there will be a variety of ‘purrks’ such as adoption fee discounts, face painting and more! All adopted pets will be sent home with a new leash and water bowl, and a supplies donation will be made to each local shelter or rescue group. Last year, the Guys in Blue helped save over 280 pets during their events and are hoping to set a new record this year.
