Orange County's
Dog Friendly Beaches

Ahhh, dog friendly beaches...where you and your pal can enjoy the sun, surf & sand!

Corona del Mar

Corona del Mar Main Beach

Corona Del Mar welcomes leashed dogs from 6am to 10am & after 4:30pm, making it a perfect dog friendly beach for you & Sam to drop on in on from time to time.

Just an hour or two allows you & your pooch to visit Main CDM Beach (aka Big Corona), stop at Inspiration Point & swing down to Little Corona, meeting fellow furry friends along the way.

Little Corona

If you aren't able to enjoy some early morning or evening sand time, just drop by Bristol Farms in the Corona del Mar Plaza.

Grab a couple of their fantastic salads and some doggie treats & you and your dog can enjoy an ocean view picnic overlooking Corona Del Mar's gorgeous coastline.

Dana Point

While dogs are not allowed on Dana Point's beaches, we've included it here because there are many beautiful spots where you & your dog can enjoy amazing views of the DP surf and sand.

Salt Creek Beach Park

The most impressive of these views is found while walking the oceanfront trail at Salt Creek Beach Park located at 33333 South Pacific Coast Highway.

Here you can pause to enjoy a picnic with your pooch at the seven-acre park boasting stunning panoramic ocean vistas.

Before you go don't forget to walk up the hill in front of the Ritz Carlton; the uphill hike is worth it as you are greeted by astounding views of the pacific, Catalina Island and Strands beach to the south.

Dana Point Harbor

A trip down to the Dana Point Marina won't disappoint. Here you'll find dog friendly restaurants, shopping and beautiful waterfront views as you walk along the harbor.

Huntington Beach Dog Beach

Orange County's "dogfriendliest beach" where your dog can swim, surf & play beach ball with his buddies all year around.

Huntington Beach Dog Beach

This expansive stretch of sand runs from 21st Street to Seapoint in North Huntington Beach and is Orange County's only dog permitted off leash beach.

You'll find parking along PCH and in 2 designated parking lots north of Goldenwest. Parking is metered so don't forget your change!

Laguna Beach

You might forget you are in Orange County while exploring the coves, beaches & tidepools found in picturesque Laguna Beach where leashed dogs are welcome on public city beaches from September 11th through June 14th. Please note: South Laguna beaches do not allow dogs. During summer hours (June 15th - September 10th) leashed dogs are allowed before 9am & after 6pm.

Laguna Beach's Main Beach

Many have compared Laguna's coastline to the breezy, palm tree-lined beaches you'll find on Maui or at Waikiki, so why not enjoy a little piece of paradise with your pooch right here in your own backyard?

Laguna has a number of different dog friendly beaches to explore from the popular boardwalk lined Main Beach to its hidden coves including Crescent Bay, Shaw's Cove, Rockpile or Picnic Beach at Heisler Park, Wood's Cove & Moss Cove.

Newport Beach

Newport Beach

Yes, Newport is a dog friendly beach! Leashed dogs are allowed before 10am and after 4:30pm on ocean front beaches that is, but that leaves you plenty of time to catch a gorgeous sunrise or sunset in this famous OC town. Bay front beaches are dog friendly before 9am and after 5:00pm

Balboa Island

San Clemente

San Onofre State Beach

San Onofre State Beach allows leashed dogs on Trails 1 & 6

Take I-5 to Basilone
