Fullerton's Dog Days of Summer

Dogs of all shapes, sizes and talents are being sought for the museum's annual "Dog Days of Summer" talent show and competition set for Thursday, Aug. 8th.

Doggie competitions and entertainment will be held from 5-8 p.m.; the market runs from 4-8:30 p.m.

Prizes will go to the dog who:

is the best kisser;
has the loudest bark;
is the fastest eater;
does the best pet trick;
and most resembles its owner.

Owners may sign their dogs up for the competitions the day of the event. The competitions are limited to 10 dogs per event.

In addition to the competitions, a variety of dog- and pet-related vendors will be selling dog treats, apparel, toys and supplies. Other vendors will be offering dog-sitting services, pet adoption, and animal shelter information.

Lasso up all your kin and the little buckaroos and join us for our 18th Annual Walk for the Animals fundraiser in Huntington Beach Central Park from 9 a.m. to noon.

This year’s theme is pure country. We are putting on a boot scootin’ good time full of fun, prizes, and entertainment! Our silent pawction is the best in the west. We’ll be seeing lots of cowboys, cowgirls, bandits, and varmints in the best country western costume and best trick contests. Food trucks will be on hand to serve up some mighty fine vittles.

There will be a Grand Pledge Prize to the one who raises the most pledges and special prizes for everyone who raises $150 or more! Come on down to John’s Philly Grill on September 6th to pre-register and pick up your tee and goodie bag. You will be rewarded with a serving of John’s crazy delicious fries.

Round up all your friends, family, work associates, classmates, neighbors and join as a pack! Special discounts apply before September 6th for 5 or more entries. Your pack will be announced at the event. Pack members can raise pledges and be eligible for individual pledge prizes, too.

So get out your boots and 10 gallon hats and giddy on up to our Western Waggin’ Day jamboree. See y’all there!

The 15th annual HAUTE DOG HOWL'OWEEN PARADE and human/dog costume contest is Saturday Oct. 31st, 2015, 2:30 p.m.

The parade is expected to include a few hundred kids and adults in costumes, followed by more than 500 costumed dogs with handlers. Haute Dogs will raise thousands for spay/neuter programs, adoption/rescue groups, Operation Santa Paws and other Long Beach service projects.

Canines and their companions are invited for tricks and treats in celebration of Howl-O-Ween. This seasonal Yappy Hour celebration is a chance for pups to strut their stuff in their favorite costume. A panel of judges will determine which canine will take home the prize in the costume categories of Scariest, Funniest, Most Glamorous and, of course, Best in Show. First place prize in each category is a hand-painted dog bowl by Debby Carman of Faux Paws Productions. Cost to enter the costume contest is $10 per canine.

The 37th Annual Corona del Mar Christmas Walk & Festival is one of the oldest special events the Chamber is proud to present. It is absolutely a can't miss pet friendly event filled with holiday festivities for family, friends & associates. Each year the Walk brings together thousands of fun-loving people into the Village of Corona del Mar for entertainment, food, prizes and games in true holiday spirit. Complete with High School bands, Fireman's BBQ, carolers, bouncy houses, Santa Visits restaurant tasting & a grand opportunity drawing full of local prizes. The merchants of Corona del Mar invite you and your pooch to visit the village and their individual businesses on this spectacular day!

The Irvine Animal Care Center is excited to host its 8th annual Home for the Holidays adoption event. More than 40 rescue groups will feature over 500 homeless dogs, cats & rabbits. Santa Claus will also be available for photos with children and pets. There will be vendors, food, a raffle, bake sale & much more. It will be a fun and festive pet friendly event for the entire family! Parking is free and admission is only $1.

California's largest and one of the nation's most well established Holiday boat parades...the Newport Harbor Christmas Boat parade. The boat parade sees over 100 illuminated vessels cruise through the harbor of Newport Beach, CA. Bring your pups to this beautiful pet friendly event and enjoy a walk around Balboa Island where you'll also enjoy the Ring of Lights waterfront home and business decorating competition.
