Searching for the perfect dog friendly getaway spot for you and your four-legged friend?
Marley's answer is "Laguna Beach!"
There is so much to see & do in Laguna, why not spend the weekend in this beautiful, diverse town? You can shop, dine, picnic, play, explore, & stay in an ocean view suite...never having to leave your pooch behind.
So let's start with our top dog friendly places to stay in Laguna...
The Casa Laguna welcomes pets at a fee of $25 per night, where your pooch will be greeted with a pet welcome kit including a water bowl, treats and more...making her feel right at home.
Or you might choose The Pacific Edge Hotel, an progressive & affordable oceanfront resort where dogs of all sizes are welcome at a fee of $50 per night.
The Casa del Camino is another beautiful oceanfront hotel welcoming dogs up to 35 pounds.
And don't forget to visit www.lagunabeachstays.com for a wealth of information on planning your Laguna Beach vacation.
When its time to eat, Laguna has a number of fantastic dog friendly restaurants with outdoor dining to choose from.
Our top choices (pictured above from left to right) include:
The Sundried Tomato Cafe, where you can enjoy wonderful California cuisine such as their Peppered Mustard Salmon Salad or Cream of Sundried Tomato Soup, with full service beneath lovely shaded umbrellas, right in the heart of Laguna Beach.
Madison Square & Garden Cafe, featuring German Apple Pancakes, creative egg dishes, a variety of delicious salads, sandwiches & vegetarian options, is open for lunch & dinner with a very dog friendly patio.
Pomodoro features an array of tasty Italian dishes, where you might enjoy their Ravioli di Zucca, roasted butternut squash ravioli in a brown butter sage sauce, Frutti di Mare or Pollo Griglia while dining on their shaded dog friendly patio.
Taco Loco offers a casual, outdoor setting where you can feast on spicy lobster or blackened swordfish tacos, while absorbing a little reggae music along with the local upbeat culture.
Maybe a dog friendly happy hour spot is in the cards?
You'll find happy hour & early bird specials at Hennessey's Tavern from 4-7pm on their downstairs patio. Their Irish Nachos and Cheese Friesare hard to beat...yum!
If a cocktail is more your style, stop by Picayo where you can enjoy a Laguna Beach specialty martini for five dollars Sunday - Thursday from 5 to 8pm. Sample the Moss Point, Crescent Bay or Divers Cove martini while the sun sets outside their cozy yet stylish patio.
And at Laguna Village's The Cliff you'll not only find happy hour beer specials (including Tahiti's own Hinano beer), you'll also be greeted by incredible panoramic vistas along their dog friendly oceanfront patio. Once you're fueled up and ready for more Laguna dog friendly shopping...
Head down to Areo on Ocean Avenue, where class meets creativity and a great sense of humor in this store that has it all, from home decor & jewelry to unique art & craft pieces, and cards for any occasion.
Best of all, the friendly staff at Areo provides a big bowl of cold water at the front door and invites your four-legged friends in with a scratch behind the ear and a variety of treats. This stop is not to be missed!
If its pet supplies, a fluffy new pet bed, or a homemade treat you are shopping for, Laguna Beach has three great spots... The Bark & Sniff Boutique located at 1330 South Coast Highway is Laguna's own "unique pet boutique & bakery" with a wide variety of doggie apparel, pet carriers, bling collars & one of a kind gift items.
Your pal might want to try a homemade cannoli along with a PupPuccino, or take home some Spa Paw Pleaser and give your pooch a paw-dicure (soothes those little pads after a long day on the beach...Marley gives it two paws up!)
Coast Pet Supply is where the Laguna local dogs go to pick up their food, treats and daily necessities to keep fit...as being a beach dog has its requirements!
Rufus will always be greeted with a smile and a treat at Coast Pet Supply, which boasts a large supply of healthy pet food, supplies, toys and treats.
Our newest addition, Surf Dog Market, is located conveniently on Forest Avenue. Here you'll find fancy collars and leashes (one is made from surf cord material, very cool), fun apparel, Red Dingo ID tags (Marley's favorite) and much more for the active surf dog :)
Speaking of surf dogs, we promised to show you Marley's favorite Laguna Beach coves & beaches...

Don't forget leashed dogs are welcome on the sand all day in Laguna Beach from September 17th through May 31st. Summer hours are before 8am and after 6pm from June 1st through September 16th.
Or if its the artsy side of Laguna Beach you & your pooch are looking for, stop in on its famous First Thursdays Artwalk, where you can both peruse the streets & pause to enjoy watercolor, sculpture or photography in many of Laguna's member galleries.
A stop in The Crystal Image won't disappoint, where you can enjoy a glass of wine & some tasty chocolate while listening to live music and marveling at quartz crystals, wood sculptures & exotic specimens.
And if you're tired after all that shopping, eating & exploring...Laguna even has its own dog friendly massage therapy studio. OC Sports Massage located at 1000 N Coast Hwy is a dog friendly business allowing your pal to take a comfortable nap in the studio while you enjoy therapeutic, neuromuscular, deep tissue & sports massage.
